BIO

Everybody’s mother-hen, Linda L. Johnson, M.D., is known as Dr. Mom to her patients, co-workers, her children’s friends and just about everyone she meets.

And, spoken like a true mom, Dr. Johnson’s most consistent advice to her patients is moderation. Whether it’s diet, exercise or other lifestyle changes – it’s a good way stay on the path to health and happiness.

Dr. Johnson loves helping people, working hard, never saying no to challenging situations and always remembering to have fun. It’s an exuberant and high-spirited energy that she brings to her work at P3 Medical Group, where she specializes in internal medicine with a focus on senior care.

It was the daring escapades of fictional amateur sleuth, Nurse Cherry Ames, that first introduced Dr. Johnson to a career in medicine. While in the fourth grade, she was a big fan of the Cherry Ames Nursing her imagination. And three decades into her medical career, she takes every opportunity to teach younger colleagues and educate her patients on their health and wellness. She knows from experience that one of the most important aspects of being a physician is listening carefully to her patients and building personal relationships.

Still an avid reader, this devotee of the Outlander book series tries to never miss an episode of the TV show. In her leisure time, she also admits to being a Trekkie, and when she’s not immersed in Star Trek lore, she crochets so often her family is convinced their house is actually a yarn shop.

Dr. Johnson received her medical degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency with Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Prior to joining P3, she was senior medical director – provider education, and senior medical director – primary care with Southwest Medical. Previously, she served as president of Southwest Medical Associates during which time she lead the group in a number of initiatives in adult medicine and senior lifestyle.

Among her numerous professional activities, Dr. Johnson is a member of the UNLV School of Medicine curriculum committee and serves as an admissions interviewer. She is a member of the Southwest Medical Hospice and Home Health board of directors and serves on numerous committees for the Healthcare Effectiveness and Information Set (HEDIS). She maintains memberships with Clark County Medical Society; Nevada State Medical Association; Association of Teachers of Preventive Medicine; Society of General Internal Medicine; American College of Physicians, and American Medical Association. She is on the operations/strategic planning committee of CareMobile and an active supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas.
